The attached text file (Unicode UTF-16 BE) can be imported as a CH-EN user dictionary. Its entries (2620) are single characters, while the “definitions” consist of the polysyllabic words of the HSK (both old and new) in which they appear. The list of words that begin with the character entry is separated by a blank line from the list of words that contain it somewhere else. The level to which those words belong is indicated with A, B, C, D (old HSK) and/or 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (new HSK). In the latter case, the number refers to the lowest level where the word is listed. The different pronunciations of pollyphonic characters have been taken into account.
Some frequent characters (e.g. 又) are not included as entries because they are not present in any of the polysyllabic words of the HSK lists. Conversely, some relatively rare characters (e.g. 剔) are included because they are present in at least one of those words (e.g. 挑剔).
The attached file will no doubt contain omissions, repetitions, and other errors. Please, point them out to me so that I can correct them. Below is an example entry (looks better in Pleco).
