PlecoDict (and Oxford Dict) on 240x320 display?

Does anybody know how PlecoDict or the Oxford Dict. look on a 240x320 pixel screen? Or how about 176x220 (strange)?

There are a couple of new Palm OS smartphones (made by GSL and Qool Labs) with that type of long and narrow screen.

Would the program display they way it does on the 320x480 screen? Or would it be restricted to a square area?

I know these are not popular palmphones so I wouldn't expect they've been tested but . . . any opinions?

I'm afraid we don't support these yet - PlecoDict would come up as a zoomed-in version of the low-resolution software with no additional detail and *probably* not any extended-display support either. We may add 240x320 support in a future version of PlecoDict, but it probably won't make it into 1.0.

We've gotten reports of Oxford E&C working well on the GSL phones, but we haven't tested it yet ourselves so I'm afraid someone else will have to chime in here...

GSL

I have been using the GSL, Capitel G99 in China, for several months with the Oxford dictionary and have installed and tested the Plecodict. The Oxford has no problems at all and I find it very useful as I can use the instant access to look up words in Chinese SMSs.

The Plecodict also seems to work fine although I went back to the Oxford until some of the features I like are working on the Plecodict.

I am looking forward to either the new GSL phone or the Qool. I will have to test the Qool though to see if matches GSL's seamless Chinese/English. I can write English in the graffiti box at the bottom and Chinese anywhere on the screen without having to switch back and forth between languages. Very useful in SMSs or for Chinese character addresses using English numerals.

I also like the incredible compactness of the GSL. I hate to carry things so being able to contain my entire life in a small mobile phone is great. The display quality is very good so even with its small size Chinese characters are usually easy to read the and the magnification is there for any very complex characters.

Hope this helps anyone trying to make a choice.
