display preference lost?

I used to set my PlecoDict display so that the current definition is on the left side of the display under the input area, and a scrolling list of other possible matches and multi-character combinations runs down the right.

Something changed, and now I can't get back to that "split screen" display format. I now have one wide display area under the input field, with either the current hit (and the up and down arrows), or, if I tap "biao", the scrolling list of other hits. It's one or the other, rather than both, side by side.

I've looked through the preferences, but can't figure out how to get back.

Running version 1.0.3 on a Tungsten E.

thanks,

Shelly

Tap and hold your stylus on the "biao" button and select "right" from the menu that pops up; that will get this back to the way it's supposed to be.

Yes, thanks from me, too. I had the same problem.

But I am quite sure what I did, I played with the navigation preferences and selected "open fullscreen list for searches". I feel that it should be possible to go back to the "split screen" by deselecting this option without this additional step described, that would be feeling more intuitive to me. But no biggie now that I know.

For me it has been five months of Pleco rather than five years, but I feel like I'm becomming an addict, and looking forward to the new version.

Glad to hear it! And thanks for the suggestion; that makes sense, it would actually be a little trickier than that to implement (we'd have to keep track of whether the list had been opened because of that option or because the user simply opened it) but little refinements like that are a big part of why our software's been so successful :)

Mike--those myriad little refinements aren't the only reason PD has become the Chinese app of choice for both PPCs and Palms.

PD has cornered the Chinese-learning-app market because it delivers more and in a more usable form than anyone else. And I've tried a great many of the competition programs.

Congrats on your anniversary.

Thanks! The anniversary kind of crept up on us, just noticed one day in mid-September that we were getting close to the 5-year mark.
