I was about to buy a Palm 750 (less than 2.000RMB on taobao now) but I saw the MWg UBiQUiO 503G. The screen has a better resolution and the cpu is faster.

Did anyone here bought one?

The upcoming Palm 850 is likely out of my budget.

I want a smartphone with both a keyboard (for all the SMSs in China) and a pen (for Chinese handwriting recognition).

Do you need to input SMS in Chinese? Most of the Pinyin input options I've seen don't support a keyboard so well, though I haven't checked out the IME's that come on Chinese ROMs. CE-Star's input does use the keyboard, but overall I think their Pinyin input isn't so great, and I don't like CE-Star in general. ZTA has good pinyin input, but the SIP panel doesn't support the keyboard. They have another IME which only uses the keyboard, but this seems to have been designed to work with a specific pocket pc devices, I never had much luck with it but you may. If that phone has the right keys it may work though.

Aside from that the phone looks decent - the screen is a bit small, but it's standard QVGA resolution.

I live in China, so Chinese SMS is #1 feature of a phone for me.

I'm a bit surprised by what you said about the input options.
Isn't Microsoft providing a Chinese IME for Windows Mobile?
